Grammar was not the best and all of those heartfelt confessions of love regarding Deyon and Kay were a little over the top... The basic plot of the story was decent it had potential but it was just all over the place without any direction or focus.... Not really looking forward to part two unless the author gets it together and drives her story in One Direction...

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Hot,hot, hot By Angelface I loved this book. There are so many life lessons in this. First off, I would like to thank Krystle Yvette for writing such a true to life story.Kayy was a young lady that had her head together, she didn't care what people thought, she was vher own woman. Deyson and Kane were my favorite, they were hard, but had a lot of softness about them. Raymond and Chaz were to idiots, Raymond for lusting after his stepsister and trying to rape her. Chaz, I really had no clear understanding for his stupidity, beating women, then raping Kayy. This could be a real life story with all of the twists and turns.

Entering into the Realms of Faerie By Franklin Waters I have not written any reviews before but I felt that the works of George MacDonald deserved reviews to bring the works of this forgotten genius back to the light of day. Especially as you can get many of them for free on your kindle. It must first be understood that George MacDonald inspired such authors as J.R.R. Tolkien, W.H. Auden, Madeline L'Engle and E. Nesbit. C.S. Lewis regarded him as his master. "Picking up a copy of Phantastes one day at a train-station bookstall, I began to read. A few hours later," said Lewis, "I knew that I had crossed a great frontier." If you are a fan of these authors then you might want to seriously consider exploring the works of one who inspired them. Before I fully get into this review I want to say that you can download this great book from the Gutenberg Project for free instead of paying the fee that Amazon charges here. Call me cheap but I like the zero price tag which I feel is appropriate for most books whose copyright has expired. This is an awesome piece of work. Reading it I felt as if I had been placed into a trance and transported into the realms of Faerie. The protagonist wanders from place to place and through adventure through adventure in a manner that is seemingly aimless at first glance. Such an aimlessness though to me gives an illustration of how Faerie must feel and in truth such meanderings are rarely without purpose they are just rarely obvious. Upon reflection you will see that there is a purpose to the journey of the protagonist though even he may not realize it until the very end. The realms he wanders through are beautiful and terrible. The entire work stirs ones imagination. In this work more than any other I can see how and where MacDonald influenced Lewis and Tolkien. I would describe this work as dreamlike and magical. The only dislikes I have is that MacDonald often goes on and on for many pages with song and poetry. While I like songs and poetry the ones he uses did not hold my attention or interest. However this may not be the case for everyone. Like all of this authors works there are messages of morals, vices and virtues. As he was a Minister you should not be surprised that there is an underlying message in keeping with his religion. Some may not care for this but for me I find the authors touch with such things light and not unpleasant in the least. His philosophies seem to me to be quite deep and worthy of reflection regardless of your own religious beliefs.Altogether I found this book to not just be a great read but a trip into the Dreamlike realms of Faerie. In the future I shall use this book as my key to journey there again and be inspired by a true master in every since of the word.

May Good book although it could've been longer, I am definitely loving the fact that this was a stand alone book but it seemed a little rushed and the characters were a little under-developed. This could've easily been longer or even a part 1 of 2. With that being said it was still a very good book and I enjoyed it, I am glad Shi was able to repair her friendship and I would've loved to have seen a little more of the moms hanging out. Rocco was a disappointment but I saw that coming also the long lost dad could've been more to that story as well. Jock of course was the man and loved him definitely loved how he loved his G. few flaws but good book

She had 2 best friends Rocco and Gianna... Her friends did her wrong... Then it seems like she has no one but her moyher... She does have a stocker and then she had Jock... Once Jock and Shiyann met their relationship just took off like a tornado...There were some interesting twist in here... This is a fast pace book... It is an interesting read... If your looking for a steady quick read that is not a series than this book is for you...

I mean you couldn't tell me I wasn't a fly on the wall child! I was loving the main character bc she was about her business and she knew her value when she dumped her ex, but boy oh boy did I feel bad when the old man lost his d@#$ mind. poor guy. The only complaint I have is that I wish it wasn't a standalone. This is one book that I would follow if it was a sequel. Oh well, I'll just wait for your next banging release!

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Reconsidering Yeats Dramatic Work By Anthony J. Gillespie Published in 1910 The Green Helmet and Poems is a fair collection of mid-period Yeats. There are a few of the frequently anthologized hits, "No Second Troy" and "The Fascination of What's Difficult," as well as plenty of more obscure and less successful poems. This slim volume does contain the brief and beautiful "A Drinking Song," which I think is Yeats' most moving love poem and one you should read right now if you haven't before. The real surprise here is the verse drama The Green Helmet, which combines Celtic mythology, Irish politics, social criticism, and medieval legend in a tightly plotted folk tale. The play's rhymed dialogue is clear and readable, even more than the poems that precede it. With a plot that echoes Gawain and the Green Knight, Yeats's Irish heroes Laegaire (read as Leary), Conall, and Cuchulain battle each other as they try to outwit a faerie-like, fox-eyed trickster known as the Red Man. While there's plenty of political commentary in the lines ("Here neighbour wars on neighbour and why there is no man knows, / And if a man is lucky all wish his luck away, And take his good name from him between a day and a day."), the language is free of Symbolist influence and the mythological allusions don't overwhelm. This is both an accessible and a satisfying short play.

He Writes Prose Too By propertius I admit to being in love with Yeats' poetry as ones loves his first paramour and indeed Yeats was close to being my first. Therefore I write this to admit that I find his verse more appealing than his plays and I tend to read his plays with an eye toward his verse. That being said this collection is a fine compromise but I would not suggest for the first time reader of Yeats. In fact I would advise the uninitiated to read his works backwards and then begin at his earliest period again. The mythology and arcane history that Yeats used to literally create the Irish experience has nothing to match it in literary history although a case may by made for Homer and the Greeks. Yes, William Butler Yeats is that much of a profound artist.

Many famous poems - and an odd play By Classics Lover This book is a collection of Yeats' poems - many well known, all interesting - and a short one-act play, "the green helmet", which is given by a mysterious, mystical man to a group of warriors at the price of one of their own's life. The play is, to me, extremely obscure and odd, but - as always with Yeats - it is a religious allegory, of one of the men willing to willingly, Christ-like, lay down his life for this treasure, the helmet, to be given to all (or so it seems to me at first reading, at any rate). Some of Yeats' writing aged badly or is obscure to those who are not Catholics, but the poems are very often beautiful and well worth reading.

The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense. Oxford scholar, Church of England Deacon, University Lecturer in Mathematics and Logic, academic author of learned theses, gifted pioneer of portrait photography, colourful writer of imaginative genius and yet a shy and pedantic man, Lewis Carroll stands pre-eminent in the pantheon of inventive literary geniuses. He also has works published under his real name.

Phantasmagoria and other poems, by Lewis Carroll

Review "The black and white illustrations, by Arthur B. Frost, are as witty as the poem. Charming." -- Fortean Times, March 2000

About the Author Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, an English writer, mathematician, Anglican deacon, and photographer. Best known for his classics Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, and Jabberwocky, Carroll was also an accomplished inventor who created an early version of what is today known as Scrabble. The publication of Alice s Adventures in Wonderland in 1865 brought Carroll a certain level of fame, although he continued to supplement his income through his work as a mathematics tutor at Christ Church, Oxford College. Carroll s whimsical characters and nonsensical verse resonated with Victorian-era readers, and his books continue to be enjoyed by numerous modern societies dedicated to his promoting his works.

The poetry of Homer with the wit of Dr. Suess. I would suggest this book to anyone who likes poetry in any form.

12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Vintage Carroll enhanced by Frost's art and Gardner's notes By M. J. Smith This book has woodcuts by Arthur B. Frost that capture the humor of Carroll's poem perfectly. Martin Gardner has provided a short introduction with letters from Carroll to Frost regarding the art and to a friend with regards to para-psychological phenomena. He also provides notes for obscure words or puns. Frost and Gardner are what makes this the version of Carroll's Phantasmagoria you should read. The poem itself is a conversation between a man of 42 and a less than adept ghost. Among the things learned are the 5 rules of behavior for a ghost, the housing requirements for a ghost etc. Carroll's vintage humor is expressed in a narrative poem of seven cantos using verses of five rhymed lines. The poetry is well written - the rhymes are not forced but natural, the humor relatively subtle. This book justifies its being in the series "Literary Classics".

8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. I'm Not Educated Enough To Understand It By theboombody I love Lewis Carroll's work, but sometimes I just have no freaking clue what he's talking about. I experienced this sensation of vagueness a few times during my reading of the Sylvie and Bruno books, but I felt it most while reading some of the poems in Phantasmagoria. But what I could understand I really enjoyed. I really loved Hiawatha's Photographing, Melancholetta, Size and Tears, and The Lang Coortin', although some of these poems have strangely inconclusive endings. It's interesting to see Carroll's last poem in this book, Fame's Penny Trumpet, where he's really, really mad at academic big-wigs.Make sure you read Alice before even attempting to read this.

Wells literary works are notable for being some of the first titles of the science fiction genre, and include such famed titles as The Time Machine, The War of the Worlds, The Island of Doctor Moreau, and The Invisible Man. Despite being fixedly associated with science fiction, Wells wrote extensively in other genres and on many subjects, including history, society and politics, and was heavily influenced by Darwinism. His first book, Anticipations of the Reaction of Mechanical and Scientific Progress Upon Human Life and Thought, offered predictions about what technology and society would look like in the year 2000, many of which have proven accurate. Wells went on to pen over fifty novels, numerous non-fiction books, and dozens of short stories. His legacy has had an overwhelming influence on science fiction, popular culture, and even on technological and scientific innovation. Wells died in 1946 at the age of 79.

Wells was!Not only was he an excellent science fiction author, but he wrote a lovely story about an extremely frustrated , repressed woman living in the frustrating and repressive Victorian Era!The ending surprised and delighted me very much!

Lyrics from "Bye Bye Birdie"Ann Veronica "Vee" asks the question "why can't a woman be like a man" and sets out to find out why. She discovers all sorts of men, some stuffy and some devious. She may one day stumble over the perfect man. She tries to be independent and is thwarted at every turn; that is until she realizes there are better things to do than just compete. We get to grow with Vee and go through several long dissertations, Ayn Rand style, over politics freedom, love, equality, and whatnot. All the talk loses its way and with dumb luck returns to the story. We are treated to a travelogue and scratch ourselves with a long talk about the prison dingies. Just as it, starts to get interest the story stops dead in the middle of a thought. The story is ok and some of the subjects brought up are still relevant today. However, if you look a little closer the story as with much fiction is just a venue to express H.G's concepts of free love.
