The Rabbi Who Knew Too Much is the story of Jonathan Jacob Kadison, a young man from Minneapolis who is inspired by the Six-Day War to settle on a border kibbutz in Israel. As the kibbutz comes under fire from the other side of the Jordan, Jonathan spends his days helping build the community's defenses. But when idealism leads to disillusionment, he leaves the Holy Land for the Golden State to go into the ''family business'' and become a rabbi--a tradition that spans thirteen generations.
Soon he is called to a pulpit in New Zealand, where he stumbles over some covert information that Israel's Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations--the Mossad--will do anything to keep hidden.
Travel the world with JJ Kadison from the Midwest to the Middle East, then to California, the South Pacific, Dubai, and Singapore in this fictional memoir that goes behind the scenes of some recent real-world events and provides a rabbi's-eye view on ethnicity, patriotism, vengeance, and justice.

IMHO possibly would have been better written as a straight autobiography By Norniedel I'm not a big reader of fiction, and I took a while to get used to the style of this 'biographical novel'. IMHO possibly would have been better written as a straight autobiography. Interesting look at life on the kibbutz in 1960s-70s Israel. As far as the story goes, I felt there was too much detail and too many dates, which, for me, disturbed the flow of the narrative.Otherwise a good read and a colourful tale.

Mossad Covert Actions By Jill Bemis This fiction account of Rabbi Kadison slows down significantly as chronological events starting in 1967 and ending in 2007 hint at but do not capture the urgency, thrill or mystic of the opening event. Readers who enjoy international espionage will appreciate the way author Kopstein include real location and events in the story.
